Course Overview
Stone Mountain Golf Club Stonemont, along with its sister course, Stone Mountain Golf Club Lakemont, highlight the golf offerings in Stone Mountain Park, Georgia's most popular natural attraction. Ever since Stone Mountain Golf Club Stoneman opened in 1969, it's been a favorite of both Atlanta-area golfers and traveling golfers. When you make a tee time to play here you'll be testing your game on a gorgeous, classic parkland layout by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., one of America's greatest golf course architects. The pristine natural setting in front of the great granite monolith that reaches a height of 1,683 feet, is worth the 30-minute drive from Atlanta in itself. While Stone Mountain Golf Club Stonemont will test every skill accomplished players possess, it is also a layout that less skilled players can handle. The layout is considered the tougher of the two eighteens in the park in large part because of its length, but because it features fewer hazards and forced carries, players who hit straight shots shouldn't lose many balls.
