Course Overview
Come and enjoy our fabulous course and hospitality! Winding its way through 230 acres of gently undulating Leicestershire countryside, Willesley Park Golf Club is home to the annual L&RGU Midland Order of Merit event, The Leicestershire Fox, and the stunning setting for one of the Midlands’ premier golfing venues. The club is easily accessible and is located less than a mile from junction 12 of the A42/ M42. The course entrance is to be found on your left as you approach the historic market town of Ashby de la Zouch. From the first tee shot through an avenue of ancient lime trees, the picturesque par 3 10th overlooking Willesley Lake to the long and challenging 18th with its demanding drive, a round of golf at Willesley Park is a terrific test of your golfing skill and is suitable for golfers of all ages and abilities. From the back tees the course measures 6331 yards and is a par 70. Our course is set in the heart of the National Forest, with stunning views of the Leicestershire countryside. WPGC is a heath/parkland course which was first opened in 1920 and later re-modelled by James Braid, retaining many of the key landscape features and natural terrain. The golf club is now recognized in the Alister MacKenzie Society of golf clubs in recognition of the work carried out by Dr MacKenzie in 1926. We receive many compliments from visiting parties ranging from the quality of the greens and course to the hospitality of our staff. You are assured of a warm welcome on the course, in the pro shop and in the clubhouse. We look forward to seeing you!
