The Golf House Club – Elie Links had its first official mention of golf in a Royal Charter in 1589, making it the third oldest course in the world. Five times Open Champion James Braid spent his founding years playing the Links and described the 13th Hole as his “favourite in golf”. Given this history, the panoramic views and superb setting it is little wonder The Golf House Club – Elie Links has established itself as such a firm favourite for visitors over the years. The very easy walking traditional links layout balances fun, challenge, and stunning views in equal measure and is a great addition to any golfing trip to the St Andrews area. A recent programme of investing in machinery, irrigation and staffing sees the course in superb condition and that has helped solidify its place in the top 100 UK & Ireland courses.
