Course Overview

A championship test to be sure, the golf course at Taboo Muskoka Resort is a visual feast with lots of doglegs and natural topography that will delight anyone who plays it. Renowned golf course architect Ron Garl developed the layout with detailed attention to the environment, working our natural rock outcroppings to create a unique experience. It was a minimalist approach that has led to one memorable hole after another. At 7,340 yards from the back tees, this par-71 layout is a beast, but there are four other sets of tees that make it more fair to players of lesser abilities and swing speeds. The par 5s are particularly challenging, like the 567-yard 18th, and if golfers are willing to challenge some of those outcroppings, there are opportunities to reach them in two. The no. 1 handicap hole is the 449-yard, par-4 ninth. It?s a heavily tree-lined dogleg right that simply plays long. In addition to the course, Taboo Muskoka offers a driving range, practice bunker, chipping greens, and practice putting green. There?s also a golf academy for lessons. And inside the clubhouse, you?ll find a well-stocked golf shop with plenty of apparel and accessories. The 19th Hole and Bar 19 at the Upper Deck are great places to hang out and get a sandwich and beverage after a round. There?s even an extra hole, hence the 19th Hole, nearby, where golfers can hit a shot, perhaps to decide a match or wager.
