Course Overview
Portsmouth Golf Club is in a town called Purbook on the coast of the English Channel. Portsmouth is best known for having a thriving shipyard and shipping industry that dates back for hundreds of years. Home to famous ships such as the Mary Rose and Horatio Nelson’s Flagship – HMS Victory there is more to Portsmouth than just a Golf Course. However, the thriving town and surrounding area add to the character of the Golf Course and gives it a real community spirit when you turn up to play there. The course itself is renowned for being a scenic Parkland course that has a blend of undulating holes that are well known for playing differently in different weather conditions. The locals say you can play the same hole 4 times and the wind can make you use 4 different clubs. The club has a fantastic view of the scenery surrounding the south coast and it is a breath-taking place to play golf.
