Course Overview
Easy to walk and easy on the eyes, semi-private Pleasanton Country Club in a fun layout and a good value a little less than an hour south of San Antonio. The relatively flat par-72 course, designed by Steve Mrak, opened in 1968. There are three sets of tees, ranging from 4,696 yards to 6,529 yards and a slope/rating of 120/71.5 from the tips. Water does come into play on five holes, including a large lake between the short par-4 10th and dogleg left par-4 18th. Large oak trees present a few more obstacles, but the fairways are generous, and the greens are large. The par 5s are relatively short – the fourth is just 458 yards, but is a little tight – setting up good scoring opportunities with proper course management. Pleasanton Country Club also offers indoor and outdoor patio dining at Lew's restaurant, featuring a full lunch and dinner menu.
