Course Overview

Panmure Golf Club is one of the oldest golf clubs in the world. Its measures 6,551 yards and was founded in 1845, the course is located 8 miles from Dundee and 20 miles from St Andrew along the Angus coast. Ben Hogan spent 2 weeks here to practice before the 1953 Open Championship at Carnoustie in which he won by 4 shots. The course has been a final qualifying venue for the Open championship on many occasions and has all the characteristics of a championship links. The real quality of the course is located around the turn from holes 7 through to 13 where wayward shots can be costly. Try not to end up in the hidden pot bunker on the front of the 6th green, named ‘Hogan’s bunker’ by members after he suggested it during his visit.
