Course Overview

Morcambe Golf Club, situated in Lancashire, is an 18 hole par 67, measuring 5791 yards. This is a privately owned parkland golf course designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie in 1905, regarded as one of the games great golf course architects. Morcambe Golf Club is picturesquely set looking out over Morcambe bay, you are greated by beautiful panoramic views on a number of tee boxes and greens as you make your way round this layout. In particular the 13th, as you make your way up to the crest of a gentle sloped fairway, you are presented with a incredible view of Morcambe Bay, on a clear winters day this can make for quite the picture. Morcambe Golf Club is a short course by modern day standards however just because a course is short does not mean it is easy. The fairways on this layout are generous off the tee but with small greens the approach shots are the real defense of this course, the greens are also protected by numerous greenside bunkers, which can swallow your ball if you our found to be even slightly offline. Some fairways are guarded with tree’s either side, which can hinder approach shots into the greens if wayward off the tee. There is a small river that meanders its way through the course providing protection on many greens and can be seen running through a number of fairways.
