Course Overview
Originally founded in 1900, it wasn't until 1993 that Moate Golf Club extended to 18 holes at its present location. Since then, its gently rolling parkland layout has tested all levels of golfers for both recreation and tournaments. Over its 5,936 meters, the Bobby Browne parkland design features mature tree-lined, but generous, fairways and undulating greens. The golf course opens with a 314-meter par-4, where a well-positioned drive to the left of the fairway opens up the green for a short iron shot. Target golf comes into play on Moate Golf Club's 99-meter, par-3 fourth hole, where a pitching wedge to a very small green can mean a birdie opportunity or several shots over par. Water comes into play on the back -- beware of the lake on holes 14, 15 and 16 to maintain a good score. The clubhouse was built in 1997 and in addition to a fully stocked golf shop and facilities, its restaurant is a Moate-area favorite.
