Course Overview

Originally opened in 1906 and designed by Donald Ross, semiprivate Merrimack Valley Golf Club is fun, interesting, scenic layout where shotmaking and course management are rewarded. The course, which is just our 6,000 yards and plays to a par 70, was restored and redesigned in 2008 by George F. Sargent of New Hampshire. Like Ross, Sargent grew up as a caddie and had great appreciation for the great Ross. But he was only able to preserve a few of the holes Ross designed. The remainder of the course got new holes in the style of Ross. Water comes into play on several holes, and there are hills and great views on this course, which has seven par 3s, ranging from 144 yards to 193 yards on the back tees. And as part of the renovation, the course also got a magnificent new clubhouse, where guests on the decks can see 14 of the 18 holes in the golf course. Merrimack Valley Golf Club does not have a driving range, but it does have a short-game area complete with a practice bunker. There is a golf shop, the Sandtrap Bar and Grille and banquet rooms in the clubhouse.
