Course Overview
The older of the two 18-hole courses at Lakeview Resort, the Lakeview Course first opened as nine holes in 1950, while another nine holes were added in 1954. It was designed by James Harrison, who used to work with Donald Ross, as well as Harrison's son-in-law, Ferdinand Garbin. The Lakeview Course, of course, has great views of Cheat Lake. With four sets of tees, the par-72 layout plays from 5,432 yards to 6,760 yards. The holes are tree-lined with large fairways and undulating greens. The signature holes include the 564-yard seventh hole which has a 180-foot vertical drop from tee to green, and offers beautiful views of Cheat Lake. The other is the 620-yard 18th hole, which is nearly impossible to hit in two. The Lakeview Course at Lakeview Resort does not have a driving range, but there is a short-game area and practice putting green. The clubhouse features a golf shop and restaurant. Stay-and-play packages are also available at the resort, which also offers other services, including a spa.
