Course Overview
One of the state's hidden gems, nine-hole Fannin Oaks Golf Course is a fun layout with majestic live oaks, streams and ponds, and a welcoming, family atmosphere. Formerly known as Oak Ridge Country Club, this semi-private facility is located between Dallas and Houston off Interstate 45. Out in the country, golfers here enjoy a tranquil atmosphere as they navigate this Leon Howard design that first opened in 1967. Two of the best holes on the course are par 5s. The fourth is a dogleg right that plays nearly 560 yards. The seventh is a little shorter, but you play over a pond on the tee shot and have to carry a lake on the approach. Anyone going for this green in two will have to hit two quality shots to avoid the water. The no. 1 handicap hole is the third, a 438-yard par 4 that plays around some huge live oaks. In addition to the course, Fannin Oaks Golf Course has a driving range, short-game area, and practice putting green. There?s a well-stocked golf shop in the clubhouse as well as a restaurant and bar. The club also has excellent facilities for weddings and special events, tennis courts, and a pool.
