Course Overview
One of the better values in the area, Fairways Golf Course is a par 66 layout with a few quirks and plenty of challenge. The 4,469-yard course, which opened in 1929 and was designed by Perry Maxwell, has two entirely different nines β at least in terms of configuration. The front is a par 36 with back-to-back par 5s on the seventh and eighth holes. The back is just a par 30 and ends with two par 3s (there are six par 3s on the back). Overall, the fairways are generally tight and lined by mature trees and there are some bunkers, both in the fairways and protecting thechallenging greens. The course, which has two sets of tees, will test golfers' accuracy as well as short game. There is no range at Fairways Golf Course, but this public facility does offer a short-game area and practice putting green. The clubhouse has a golf shop and restaurant. And there are also banquet facilities that can be booked for special events.
