Ellesmere Port Golf Course has been reopened in April 2019 as The Ian Woosnam Golf Academy. This municipal course that has all the classical features of a challenging golf course including fantastic surroundings and a good variation of holes, with a wide selection of hazards to overcome. In fact it's hard to believe it's a municipal golf course! Ellesmere Port Golf Course offers golfers of all abilities a fabulous value for money golf experience. There are brooks, ponds, mature trees and plenty of bunkers, all of which add character to the course and will naturally heighten the challenge. The closing four holes will be a great test of your golfing ability whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced golfer. It is here you will find Hooton Golf Club's signature hole - the 17th, a par 3 measuring 189 yards. With thick surrounding woodland and a ditch running across the length of the green, you will understand why it is one of the most talked about par 3's in the area!
