Course Overview

One of New Jersey's most popular public golf courses, The Colts Neck Golf Club features a links-style course with native grasses, tall hardwoods and a wide variety of interesting and challenging holes. Designed by golf course architects Geoffrey Cornish, Brian Silva and Mark Mangeam, the course was built on an old farm. The silo near the clubhouse and some other farm features remain. The par-71 Colts Neck golf course isn't long -- just 6,226 yard from the back tees -- but it's plenty challenging. The Scottish-style bunkers can certainly be difficult, there are several holes with water, and the course also has some forced carries, especially from the back tees. The course actually ends with a par-3, and it's a difficult one, at 233 yards from the tips and mostly carry over water. But there are three other sets of tees. The 18th is just 140 yards from the red tees, where the course plays just 4,862 yards overall. Golden fescue borders the fairways throughout the course, which has large undulating greens. The Colts Neck Golf Club also has excellent practice facilities, which include a driving range and short-game area with bunker and chipping green. Members and guests of this semi-private facility can also take advantage of The New Jersey Golf Performance Academy, which offers individual and group instruction year-round. The Colts Neck Golf Club's impressive clubhouse includes a well-stocked golf shop and the Pegasus Grille and Pavilion, which is open for fine dining and special events.
