When you have a tee time to play this 2007-vintage course you will find a highly varied playing field whose most impressive feature, besides the stunning views of the Sierra del la Laguna Mountains, the Baja California desert and the Sea of Cortez, is its large and wildly undulating greens. A highlight of Club Campestre San Jose's front nine is the 7th hole, which features a spectacular peninsula green. The back nine is especially notable as it rambles on up and down terrain with exciting elevation changes, tough doglegs, gorgeous sand bunkers, and green complexes with false fronts and intriguing contours. With five sets of tee markers, Club Campestre San Jose Golf can play as long as 6,966 yards and as short as 4,720 yards. The par-71 layout is a 35-36 configuration with five par 3s. Nicklaus s design appeals to golfers of wide-ranging skill levels because the holes offer both a safe route around hazards to the putting surfaces as well as a riskier, but more rewarding, alternative. Everyone will enjoy hitting off of the hardy seaside Paspalum grass. If you want to warm up before your round at Club Campestre San Jose, you may want to arrive extra early because the scenic elevated setting of the driving range overlooks the Sea of Cortez. Be sure to save a little time to practice some putts, as you'll find the slopes on the greens all throughout the round to be pretty crazy. The grand clubhouse is home to a well-stocked pro shop and a restaurant with outdoor seating.
