Course Overview

The Castlerosse Golf Course is a nine-hole, par 36 parkland course with majestic views across Killarney's Lower Lake and the Magillicuddy Reeks, Ireland's highest mountains. The 3,000-yard course was designed by Harry Wallace and opened in 2000. Its dramatic elevation changes lend themselves to challenging golf and stunning views. Castlerosse Hotel & Golf Resort itself was built in 1960 by Beatrice Grosvenor, heir to Sir Valentine Browne, who arrived in the Killarney area in 1587. Today the Castlerosse Hotel occupies the same setting enjoyed by generations of viscounts and earls on what was the last portion of the great Kenmare Estate in the private ownership of the Browne family.
