Course Overview

Within walking distance of the Atlantic Ocean, Beachwood Golf Club is a local favorite and good choice for anyone visiting Myrtle Beach. The course, which opened in 1968 and was designed by Gene Hamm, is known for its good conditioning and excellent service. The par-72 layout has five sets of tees and plays anywhere from 4,836 yards and 6,820 yards. It's also conveniently located near the area's most popular accommodations. As for the golf course, there is a great variety of holes. A dozen of them have water that comes into play, and there are lots of bunkers, generous fairways and large, receptive, well-maintained greens. The finishing stretch of holes 15 through 18 are particularly good, with each of them featuring water. The 15th is a par-3 with a large lake in front of the green and to the right. The par-5 17th is a great risk-reward par 5, playing just 488 yards from the back tees, but with a lake in play on the approach, it's anything but easy. The 18th is another par 3. It plays 228 yards from the tips. In addition to the course, Beachwood Golf Club has great practice facilities that include a grass range, practice bunker and short-game area and practice putting green. There's a well-stocked golf shop in the clubhouse as well as the Beachwood Grill, ranked among the best 19th holes in the Myrtle Beach area. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the Grill also has a good selection of draft, canned and bottled beer.
