Course overview

Mitchelstown Golf Club in Gurrane has earned a reputation throughout Ireland for immaculate conditions, beautiful scenery and challenging golf. Opened in 1910, the 5,733-meter course (par 71 for men and par-73 for women) is located within the boundary walls of the old Kingston Estate, set in the valley of the Galtee Mountains. Combined with views of the adjacent River Funshion and gently undulating fairways that promote walking, the David Jones design is one of the most picturesque layouts in the area. Long hitters are rewarded on through the layout if not caught in one of the many bunkers or water hazards tucked strategically in place. The 284-meter par-4 15th is a real test, a well positioned tee shot is needed to navigate through the dogleg-right and set up for a solid approach shot to a lake-fronted green. Mitchelstown Golf Club's par-4 18th is a solid finishing hole requiring a drive to the left side of the fairway for an approach shot to an elevated green surrounded by bunkers.
