Course overview

Handsworth Golf Club has had time to establish itself as one of the top venues around Birmingham city centre since its creation in 1895. Built in 1906 the clubhouse recently underwent extensive refurbishment just short of its 100th birthday and provides the perfect setting in which to view the adjacent fishing lake while relaxing in the lounge or dining area. So tranquil is the setting here that it can lead you to forget just how close you are to the city centre. Handsworth Golf Course is a well matured and defined parkland course that is easy walking with gentle undulations. The age of the course means that tall trees line the fairways almost creating a golfing avenue leading to the greens. There are a couple of tight tee-shots to be wary of where a well-placed iron could lead to an easier second than a wild driver. In recent years the course has had various improvement works carried out as well as significant changes to the bunkering to make the course a stiffer test for the more competent golfer.
