Course overview
Blessed with stunning views over the Cardigan Bay, Aberystwyth Golf Club is such a special setting which has the sort of unspoilt views that are hard to find when playing golf. Opened in 1911, the clubhouse has managed to maintain its original structure and is the perfect place to relax and have a drink in before or after your round. There is a driving range is available for you to work on all aspects of your game and with some long par 4s, you will need a strong drive in order to save you from a difficult approach shot. Designed by Harry Vardon, Aberystwyth Golf Course has been voted inside the Top 100 Hidden Gems in Golf Monthly. Good course management is essential to getting round with a good score and club selection is also key when playing into the wind on the long par 4s as poor drives will lead to difficult approach shots. The lining bunkers and protected greens will also punish any errant shots. The par 4 12th has been described as the toughest hole on the course by quite some margin mostly due to its long tee shots into the wind which, on a bad day, can be a tough customer. Your second shot won't be any easier as you will be approaching a green which is protected by a very steep slope.
